I have been fascinated by book bookbinding lately. My first experience with the craft was a few years ago. I was taught, by a a good friend, how to make what is a called a book block. “The unfinished stage of bookmaking when the pages are folded, gathered and stitched-in but not yet cover bound.” I made a few notebooks and zines, but they all had the stitching and string exposed on the spine because essentially the book block is just the guts of the book without the covers. Now I am older and learning about some beautiful and sophisticated bindings, multi-section case bindings, perfect binding, and Japanese stab binding. Oh, and am knitting too. Brown socks with 2×2 ribbing, a shaped common heal, and a star toe.

Just wanted to point out, the Small Book was my birthday gift. It is one of the most unique gifts I’ve ever recieved and is very special to me.
I can’t wait to see the next project.
