Bento Bento Bento!

Okay so the photography stinks, and the photo obviously has nothing to do with knitting. But I had to share my newest obsession…bento! I saw this traditional Japanese lunch box at Kawaii Gifts (Cuteness) in Shadyside. I’ve been wanting a bento box for a while and yesterday I just gave in. San-X Kutusita Nyanko (the little black kitten) visits Paris! Horray! See, I’ve been trying unsuccessfully to start packing my lunch to bring to work and now I have found inspiration. It took me about 10 minutes to put together. For lunch tomorrow I will have blanched spinach, radish flowers, cherry tomatoes, a teeny bottle of soy sauce, sliced cucumber, edamame, and brown rice (it’s in the lower compartment). I’m swooning for bento box lunches. Of course there are tons of websites and $1000 worth of accessories to browse. I have my eye on a rice mold in the shape of a flower.

Bento boxes are cool. But really, you can do better with the tiny soy sauce bottles. There are tiny bottles in the shapes of animals and fruit. Why not share your favorite bento box websites?

Oh, I’ve ordered a whole set of jungle themed miniature sauce bottles.
